The 2016 Spirit of Giving Food Drive begins Friday, Dec. 9. You can donate at all New Hampshire Hannaford, Shaw's and Walmart locations.
We are very excited to share what we just learned with you! For the third year, a local private New Hampshire foundation will match monetary donations to the NH Food Bank up to $100,000.00 – WOW!
This $1 for $1 match will raise $200,000, providing 400,000 meals to our 1 in 9 neighbors in need in New Hampshire.
There are 1 in 9 men, women and children in New Hampshire who are food insecure, which means they do not know where their next meal will come from.
There are 42,170 children in New Hampshire who live in food-insecure environments. This figure has continued to increase since 2007 by more than 75 percent.
About New Hampshire Food Bank
The NH Food Bank opened their doors on World Food Day, October 16, 1984, and serves as the only Food Bank in NH. In addition to food distribution, our approach to ending hunger includes developing our outreach programs such as: Mobile Food Pantries, Cooking Matters, a 1-acre Production Garden, and our Culinary Job Training Program.
Thanks to supporters like you, last year, the Food Bank distributed more than 12 million pounds of food to over 400 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, day care centers and senior centers.
